The Challenge

Bring stability to the business, acquired by an investment company who didn’t retain the Founder, after a series of short-term General Managers and eliminate the trading losses.

The Result

Achieved breakeven and established the platform for future profits through increased trading margins and reduced operating costs.
  • Sales: Realigned the external sales team’s focus, simplified the pricing structure and introduced contract pricing for key customers. Secured a $0.5 million p.a. contract with a major food service company.
  • Stock: Rationalised the product range, liquidating > 50% of the products contributing < 7% of turnover.
  • Process: Implemented batch tracking for audit and traceability purposes and managing product expiry (best before) dates and a Delivery in Full on Time (DIFOT) customer service performance measurement.
