The business designs, produces in Asia and sells two children’s clothing and footwear ranges in NZ, Australia and some Asian markets. Turnover > $5 million, Staff = 12. Their brands are:

  • Pretty Brave (children’s leather footwear)
  • Crywolf (children’s outerwear).

  • Identified and managed key finance tasks in collaboration with the part-time Finance resource.
  • Provided support to the Founder/Owner in tackling sales, product, operational, and financial challenges.

The Challenge

Provide senior commercial finance support and advice to the business on an ongoing, part-time and as required basis (“Contract CFO”).

The Result

Key results during this engagement included:
  • Provided a commercial finance and general business sounding board in negotiations with a new Asian export market customer.
  • Designed and guided the implementation of a Budgeting and Cashflow Forecasting model.
  • Introduced a Balance Sheet reconciliation process which resulted in a fully understood balance sheet with no hidden issues.
